It’s an ionizer
Beneficial negative ions abound in Nature in good quality air and some naturally-occuring minerals. The minerals in the Waterman filter significanly reduce the positive ion count of the tap water filtered through its filter medium.

It re-mineralizes tap water
The somelite coral sand in the Waterman filter has a dual purpose. It filters AND re-mineralizes water, working together with bioceramics to enrich water with essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. A mineral-deficient diet can contribute to significant health problems, causing mental and physical symptoms that affect everyday behaviour. A good source of mineral-rich hydration, together with proper nutrition, can give the body minerals it needs to stay in good health.
It’s completely portable
Completely portable and lightweight, the Waterman goes where you go. It fills easily from any tap, making it great for hiking, sports, travel, gym and work use. Rather than carrying the weight of a lot of heavy water when travelling, carry the Waterman, and filter as you go. You can also ensure everyone is adequatley hydrated in the family by filling recycled bottles at home to take Waterman water to school or work. No electricity is needed.
Important notes for first-time filter use
1. Before using the new Waterman for the first time, cover and soak the white filter cartridge in water for five minutes.
2. Shake the filter in this water four to five times.
3. Replace this filter into the Waterman and flush it two to three times more until any filter medium particles in the water have disappeared. Use this flushing water on plants or elsewhere, but not for drinking.
4. Do not use the Waterman with biologically unsafe water sources. It is primarily designed for municipal tap water.
Waterman hints from practical experience
1. Don't go travelling without it. Water supply quality varies wildly from location to location and you may find you regret not having the Waterman with you, and then do not hydrate adequately.
2. When travelling with a full Waterman, ensure the blue cap that seals the water is firmly in place, or it will leak.
3. If you prefer not to drink direct from the Waterman, or if the one Waterman is providing drinking water for more than one person, use it to top up your favourite drinking water bottles, preferably inert, clean glass.
4. You will save considerable time and money by not having to buy bottled water from a shop each day.
5. You will not contribute to landfill with over consumption of store-bought bottles used once and then thrown out.
6. When the water flow through the Waterman slows down, or if there is a poor taste to the water, it is time to replace the filter cartridge. This may be some time after 800 litres has been put through, though this can vary up or down depending on the chemical load and solids you have been filtering from the source water.
7. Do not let the filter dry out after you have started using the Waterman, store it full if you are not using it.
8. If you have not used the Waterman for several days, flush it out at least once and discard this water.
9. No water filter should be kept longer than 12 months as bacteria may build up to unacceptable levels. Write down and keep the date you started using the Waterman.
10. Don't forget to use the Waterman in the kitchen for cooking, beverages and ice blocks. Pets benefit from good hydration too.
